So we've been away for about three weeks and i'm yet to write my first post suppose i've been a bit busy eating drinking and exploring with my beautiful girlfriend.
I've been poking my head inside various shops along the way but not much has caught my eye, didn't want to spend my whole trip on the search.
We've been traveling down the west coast from Vancouver to San Francisco, and one of my favorite stops has been Portland. This is where i came across the ModernMan
Portland Oregan is such an amazing city that has the feel of a small town. Its pace is slow but style is unique. Everything thing there is well thought out, so many restaurants microbrewery's and food carts. Where ever you go the produce is sourced locally. The place is open minded and everything is made with with pride.
'KEEP PORTLAND WIERD' is the slogan and trust me it is. This is what makes it so interesting any thing goes in style here, whether your a hippie hipster or a stripper it don't matter.
I asked for local knowledge on where to get a haircut and this led me to 'The Modern Man' with three locations around town i went to the one on Mississippi the coolest street full of bars and restaurants.
When you walk in it looks like you've walked into an old train station. The waiting area is incredible.
The barbers were all super friendly and very proud to work there, they told me there gonna be opening a bar downstairs sometime soon, which sounds fun but dangerous. The location and design are on point, you can tell no expense has been spared. If you make a visit to the Pacific Northwest be sure to visit them. The price is reasonable and service is spot on.
Other place we loved here where
Sizzle pie for Pizza, Lardos for sandwichs, powell's bookshop (its so massive), Voodoo donuts. The japanese Gardens in washington park
